Hundreds of workers gathered on the floor of Boeing’s massive Dreamliner production line to hear the President’s speech. The President arrived in Washington early Feb. 17 for three campaign stops; however, the Boeing speech was not formally connected to the campaign. It was a momentous and joyful Feb. 13 as gay rights proponents received an early Valentine’s Day present: marriage equality in Washington State. Governor Gregoire signed the legislation to a packed reception room early Monday afternoon, praising Washington senators and representatives alike for “doing what was right.” Afterwards, crowds gathered around the state to celebrate the long-awaited victory.

Both at practice and at meets, the girls’ gymnastics team gives the opponents a run for their money. The dedication required and danger inherent in the sport often goes unappreciated, but taking the time to support fellow Vikings at a meet will leave an impression far beyond expectations.
